At 5:25 in the morning, the sound of several shots alerted the residents of the neighborhood of Iceland, in the town of Bosa, in the south of Bogota. This is an area in the process of urban renewal where high-rise buildings are being built. Residents leaned out of windows in anguish to see what was happening.

What they saw was a pitiful scene, the body of Ana Barrera Saavedra, 48 years old, lying on the floor while her children, terrified, crying, asked for help for their mother. They were in shock. Within a short time, the woman no longer had vital signs. They then proceeded to call the authorities.
A 12-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy saw how two men on a motorcycle shot their mother in the back with a firearm. This fact was also corroborated when the authorities reviewed the security cameras in the sector, which will now be vital in the investigation.
Then, the two assassins flee in the same vehicle in which they had been following the woman. “Through the Judicial Investigation Technical Corps, material evidence has been collected that will allow us to establish who the alleged criminals were and why they did it,” explained Colonel Jhon Suárez, commander of the Bosa Police.
For now, it is known that the institution is waiting for a court order for the residential complexes to deliver all the videos.

The only thing known about the victim so far is that he had a clothing store in the Patio Bonito neighborhood of the town of Kennedy. EL TIEMPO was able to establish that this person was not recognized in the sector for criminal activities.
A neighbor of the murdered woman and who preferred to hide her identity told EL TIEMPO that no belongings were stolen from the victim and they did not know of any type of prior threat against the victim. “As a community we do not know of loans or enemies of this person. She only took her children to study”.
The situation shocked the residents of the sector so much that on Wednesday night they held a ‘vigil’ to reject this murder and ask the authorities for more presence in the sector.

The mayor of that town, Lizeth González Vargas, is planning an extraordinary security council. The removal of the body was carried out by personnel from the Police Sijín. The institution pointed out that everything happened at around 5:20 in the morning. Suárez said that they are searching every corner of the city for the criminals who took the life of the mother of the family.
Other witnesses consulted by this means said that the victim lived very close to where she was murdered. “I work in the sector. A resident told me that she saw a lot of police this morning and that they were not allowing vehicles to pass. She told me later that a neighbor had gone out to drop her children off at school and that they passed by on a motorcycle and shot her in the head. Terrible insecurity here in Bosa. I work in transportation and we see problems every day.”
