A complex plan surrounded by complexity, through which a woman hoped to save face for her daughter and the family. Stations passed by the mother and her daughter, carrying her infant, away from their hometown, but the truth was revealed by chance that was not taken into account, and things did not go as planned.
5 days ago, a woman, her daughter, and her infant left the house in one of the villages of Al-Ayyat Center, south of Giza, and went to the nearby Al-Hawamdiya Center, hoping to find a rented apartment to stay in for a few days.
The grandmother and mother did not find a refuge other than a simple room owned by a woman, “We will sit for a few days and walk.” Seven o’clock the next morning, the owner of the room saw the grandmother carrying her grandson, so she asked her, “Where are you going so early?” She replied, “I will go to Umm Al-Masryeen Hospital to see the valley’s vaccinations.” The lady tried to facilitate her mission, “Go to the medical unit or hospital here.”
The lady’s proposal was not accepted by the grandmother, who told her, “No, it will not work,” so she set off to her predetermined destination. With the passage of time, and the grandmother’s delay in returning, the owner of the room became suspicious, so she told her son what had happened, who did not deny the news, and called Captain Abdel Halim Labnah, who is widely popular in the south.
As the officer was known for his activity, he set out to collect information and track down the incident whose words fell on his ears with some suspicion that his sense of security prompted him to expect “there is something wrong” in order to interrogate the daughter staying in the room.
Simultaneously, a signal was received from Lieutenant Colonel Hisham Fathi, Chief of Giza Investigations, from the Umm Al-Masryeen Hospital police station, that a newborn infant had been found in mysterious circumstances, whose descriptions were similar to that of the one who disappeared with his grandmother.
A joint research team worked on examining the traffic lines by unloading the surveillance cameras in the vicinity of the last stations of the infant and accompanying him to the “hospital” until the tuk-tuk vehicle that was carrying it, so that its driver confirmed, “I got off in front of the hospital and walked.”
The threads of the case gathered in front of the officer in the Southern Division to draw a scenario titled as cunning and sophistication of an investigative officer who is able to employ his police tools to serve his case. He agreed with the owner of the room to lure the grandmother with a call, “Come and catch your tired daughter.” Upon her arrival, they kept her until she was received by the police and taken to the police station, and she attributed the reason for her action, “I want to cover my daughter.”
