The murderer of rapper Nipsey Hussle was sentenced to 60 years in prison

The person responsible for the murder of rapper Nipsey Hussle, which occurred on September 15, 2019 at the doors of a California clothing store, was sentenced this Thursday to 60 years in prison by a Los Angeles court.

Eric Ronald Holder Jr heard the verdict of Judge Clay Jacke II who found him guilty of first degree murder for that crime, the Variety portal reported.

The same jurors had already convicted him in July of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter and two other charges of assault with a firearm, derived from that shooting that ended the life of Nipsey Hussle and left two other people injured. .

The testimony of Herman Douglas, a close friend of Hussle’s and a direct witness to the events, was vital to the conviction: “Nipsey was my friend, he was like a son, he was like a father. The mistake and the action of one man ruined an entire community, ”he declared before the judge. .

Holder did not deny responsibility for the shooting but his defense argued that he should be convicted on a lesser charge, manslaughter, a cover change that never took place during the trial.

That fateful day, the rapper was signing autographs at the door of a store belonging to his clothing brand when he confronted his future murderer in a conversation: Holder left the place and returned a few minutes later to fire eleven shots at his victim’s body , being the only one of the three attacked who failed to survive.
