The murder charge helped to search for the 13-year-old: Was found by the parents

The 17-year-old boy, who is charged with the murder of a 13-year-old girl in Hjallerup, helped look for her with her parents when she disappeared on Thursday evening following a trip to the youth club.

It was the 13-year-old’s own parents who found her fatally injured at Hjallerup Varmeværk.

That is according to deputy police inspector Frank Olsen.

The police’s investigation, where a number of witnesses have been interviewed, has meant that the police believe they have a good overview of what happened.

The police are now lifting the veil on what happened in the time leading up to the murder.

Friend was looking for 13-year-old

Had the person killed been in a youth club with her friend – the 13-year-old girl who was also detained by the police on Thursday evening – and the 17-year-old boy accused of murder.

Between 9 and 10 p.m., the young people began to leave the youth club, and in that connection the two 13-year-old friends lost contact with each other.

– The friend of the murdered man became worried and started looking for the now deceased herself, and during her search she came across the 17-year-old, whom she knows because he had been dating the murdered man, says Frank Olsen.

Mother called 911

The 17-year-old went along and helped look for the 13-year-old girl, and along the way the friend called the victim’s parents.

The parents joined the two teenagers in the search for their daughter, and they searched both together and separately.

Shortly following 10 p.m., they found her badly injured by the heating plant and raised the alarm. It is the mother who calls 112 at 10.12 pm, Frank Olsen says.

17-year-old in constitutional hearing

The 17-year-old boy and the 13-year-old friend were also at the heating plant, but subsequently left the scene.

They were both later arrested at an address in Hjallerup, where they were both present.

The 13-year-old friend has since been released, and the police state that she has nothing to do with the murder.

The 17-year-old is charged with murder and will be produced in a constitutional hearing on Tuesday followingnoon.

Frank Olsen does not want to go into what evidence points to the 17-year-old or the other specific circumstances surrounding the murder.
