The members of the municipal council of the Town of Pincourt will take part in the Relay for life of Vaudreuil-Soulanges which will take place at the Olympic park, next June 11. Each of them will do it for personal reasons and all will do it collectively.
The members of the municipal council will walk under the name of “La belle gang de Pincourt”, with the aim of raising funds to fight cancer and provide all the necessary support to people with cancer by assisting them with various services.
As mentioned by the mayor and co-captain of the team, Claude Comeau, the relay is an opportunity to unite for the same objective: “I walk for my sister who we lost at the age of 57. I am also walking for her husband who died a few years later from cancer, as well as for my other brother-in-law who died a few years later at a very young age. We miss them very much and we think of them every day”.
For District #1 Councilor and team co-captain, Hugo Gendreau, it’s time to celebrate: “It is to celebrate the life of those who fight, but also of those who have left us as a result of cancer”.
For District Councilor #2, Denise Bergeron, she walks for the cause “Since too many people have left us because of cancer”.
For District #4 Councilor Diane Boyer, she will walk for her two brothers-in-law, Robert (Bobby) and Raymond: “They died too soon, too young. We miss them so much! “. She thinks of them often and walks in memory of beautiful memories of them.
For District Councilor #5, Claudine Girouard-Morel, she will walk for her sister Suzanne: “She died of lung cancer in 2020, the day following her birthday, at the age of 57. Suzanne left no one indifferent, she experienced several challenges in her life and she fought courageously until the end. ».
She will also walk for her father-in-law who died in 2019 of this disease and also to encourage those who have survived as well as those who are fighting once morest this disease.
Councilors from District #3 Sam Ierfino and District #6 René Lecavalier will also participate to support the cause.
The money raised will go to the Canadian Cancer Society
