the MRI places Belgium on orange alert from Monday, the course of 40 degrees is not excluded!

The heading of 40 degrees is not excluded, indicates the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM). The latter issued an orange alert from Monday.

Saturday followingnoon, the maximum temperatures will vary between 20 and 22 degrees in the Ardennes and in the coastal region, and between 23 and 25 degrees in the other regions. The wind will be moderate from the north.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a clear sky will bring temperatures down to between 6 and 14 degrees.

Sunday, the weather will be warm and sunny with a few cloudy veils. The maxima will vary between 24 and 26 degrees in the coastal region and in the Ardennes, and between 27 and 29 degrees in the other regions. The wind will generally be light.

Highs of 36 degrees are expected on Monday and up to 40 degrees on Tuesday. The MRI places almost all of Belgium on orange alert on Monday. The coast and the provinces of Liège and Namur should be more spared. On Tuesday, however, no region of the Kingdom will escape this code orange.

It is advisable to hydrate regularly, to eat a little lighter, in small portions, and to keep doors and windows closed in order to keep the heat outside the buildings.

The IRM had issued red alerts in the summers of 2019 and 2020. The heat of 2021, on the other hand, had not resulted in any warning.
