Sunday shortly before 6 p.m., a terrible accident took place in Bertrix, rue de la Fèche, near the gas station. Two people riding a motorbike were victims of a head-on collision with an oncoming car. His passenger is seriously injured according to Mathieu Rossignol, the mayor, who went to the scene of the accident. This is also confirmed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office without giving further comments on the subject. “Apparently, the motorbike crashed head-on into the car which was turning to go to the gas station. However, I do not know the exact circumstances of this accident. I can only tell you that, at the place where this collision took place, the visibility is unfortunately quite poor…”, explains the mayor from Bertrige.
If the mayor of Bertrix knows the name of the deceased on the spot, he nevertheless refuses to communicate on the subject, out of respect for the family of the deceased. “All I can tell you is that this person lived in the region,” concludes Mathieu Rossignol.
The prosecution appointed an expert who was dispatched to the scene to determine the exact circumstances of this fatal accident.
