Phone veteran Motorola is reportedly continuing to improve its GXX line of smartphones. The design and features of the G54 have just leaked on the net.
According to information shared by The Tech Outlookthe next smartphone mid-range of the G series should significantly improve the proposal of its predecessor, released at the beginning of the year in France, notably by offering more RAM and storage.
Notable improvements
Although a very affordable model offering 5G, the Moto G53 released at the start of the year was particularly disappointing in terms of the quality of its HD+ screen. The new G54 version, internally called Cancun 5G, should offer something more modern and better. Thus, the smartphone which should be announced at the end of the year will run on Android 13 and will be able to have up to 8 GB of RAM (compared to 4 GB for the G53 according to the Motorola site) and 256 GB of storage (compared to 128 GB currently). It would even be possible to increase the storage size up to 1TB.
The smartphone should also, according to sources from The Tech Outlook, have a 6.5-inch FHD + screen in a 20: 9 format and refreshed at 120 Hz. A marked improvement compared to the G53 and its screen of only 720 x 1,600 pixels since now, it would have a resolution of 1080p. The device would also have a large stereo speaker compatible with Dolby Atmos and with Moto Spacial Sound.
An identical photo block
Photo level, the Moto G54 should keep the same characteristics as its big brother, namely a main sensor of 50 mpx, supporting Quad Pixel technology, and a macro of 2 mpx. The front selfie camera should consist of a 16 MP sensor and the whole thing would be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging. The brands today consider that a fast charge starts at 18 W, it will be necessary to review its expectations in this area so as not to be disappointed.

The Tech Outlook also unveiled 3D renderings of the future smartphone. There is a fingerprint reader on the side of the device. The Moto G54 is expected to be available in four colors: Ballad Blue, Ambrosia, Coronet Blue and Outer Space. A question remains, however. Given the improvements made by the brand, will this Moto G54 be able to keep its attractive price? As a reminder, the G53 was sold for €249 when it was launched.
