Black holes The discovery was reported in the monthly journal of the Royal Astronomical Society in the United Kingdom. “This black hole is regarding 30 billion times the mass of our Sun. It is one of the largest black holes ever detected. And it’s at the upper limit of what we believe theoretical black holes are,” said physicist James Nightingale of the University of Durham. “This is a very exciting discovery.”
There are many black holes in the universe. But many places are not this big. One method used by astronomers is look for the effects of so-called Space-time distorted ‘gravitational lens’ which can amplify distant lights behind it to be seen more clearly. Including black holes as well, the Abell 1201 galaxy has such a strong gravitational force that it surprises scientists.
It stretches the light of the galaxy behind like a stained brow line. This trace was first discovered in 2003, and astronomers don’t know why. over time Nightingale and his colleagues have access to more information. So that it can simulate the two rays passing through the gravitational lens hundreds of thousands of times. “Most of the largest known black holes are in their active state, where matter pulled close to the black hole heats up and emits energy in the form of light, X-rays and other radiation. ”said Nightingale.
“however This gravitational lensing makes it possible to study static black holes. which is something that cannot be done with distant galaxies today. This method might help us detect many black holes beyond our local universe. and reveals how these exotic objects continue to evolve over cosmic time,” and perhaps even provide some hints regarding how they might grow to such large sizes.
