The Egyptian state continues its efforts to develop the services provided to the citizen, as the Railway Authority begins operating the world’s most luxurious train, the Talgo train.
The directives of the political leadership were to modernize and comprehensively develop the railway system, provide the highest level of service to the public, and develop the system that has been neglected for decades.
The new trains, “Talgo”, will provide the highest levels of service to the public of passengers and will constitute a huge qualitative leap in Egypt’s railways. The train consists of 15 cars (5 first class cars – 8 second class cars – a buffet car – and a power car in addition to a modern American PRL tractor).
The Spanish Talgo trains are characterized by a high operating speed of 160 km / h and the presence of pneumatic systems to absorb vibrations, which achieves complete comfort for passengers at high speeds, and chairs for people of determination.
The trains have display screens for each seat in the first-class carriages and centralized ones in the second-class carriages, as well as a WIFI system and a fire alarm system to maintain the safety of passengers, and toilets with the latest design and others for people of determination, surveillance cameras and a control room to secure passengers.
The Minister of Transport said that it was contracted to supply 6 trains from the Spanish company Talgo + a gift train from the company to the Egyptian people, and the first train was supplied and is currently in the trial operation stage.
