“In the Natural Department of the University of Puerto Rico I exposed myself to many people who wanted to be doctors and I saw them practicing for the super medical, and being natural, I had the credits and the classes associated with what is the pre medical and I made the decision to take the exam and see if I might get into medical school and become a doctor,” explained Dr. Renta.

The union between programming and cardiology

According to Dr. Renta, the beginning of his studies was an arduous and difficult process, since he was used to calculations and computer programming, but when he arrived at the Department of Cardiologyhe saw a similarity in what he had studied and it seemed more natural to him.

“From then on I never found anything else that made me feel this kind of feeling, so I decided to stick with the cardiology as my specialty”, said Dr. Renta.

He reveals that his wife helps him to meet each of his goals and his son is always aware of each of the things he does, understanding that every moment that he is not with him, Dr. Renta is “Giving up what is a difficult situation in Puerto Rico, with what is medical health and medical access.”

“What fills me up is being able to help patients get their referrals, who sometimes come with a condition that hasn’t been evaluated for a long time,” says the specialist.
