The most expensive game in Steam history is free after almost becoming the perfect cover for money laundering

From time to time, titles that come with exorbitant prices are released on their platforms, like that game where we are a ball that cost 35,000 pesos in the Microsoft Store. But the case of ‘MEGAJUMP’ was strange, extreme and even extrapolated with respect to the most expensive titles on Steam (or any other store) since it cost 500 thousand dollars, something like nine and a half million pesos.

Fortunately for everyone, ‘MEGAJUMP’ went from costing that “stratospheric” figure and is now free, as we can read in the page of this game and Steam: “Once the most expensive game on Steam, it’s now free”. According to its creator, it all started as a joke, which would end in a call with a “money launderer”.

I got a call from Tang Xiaolong the money launderer, it’s been quite a stressful experience, I wish I had enough money to worry about laundering it.

On Steam, ‘MEGAJUMP’ is described as a three-dimensional platform game where each of our jumps will be a challenge. Our goal will be not to fall to finally be free.

Only a few will make it to the top. Will you be one of them? In this precision 3D platformer where every jump is risky and easy to learn, with controls that are hard to master, you’ll no doubt be rewarded once you start climbing from the Pit of Despair. Just don’t fall.

This installment was published around 2020, during the month of October and generally has positive reviews. Naturally at some point lowered to its real price (which was around between 50 and 100 pesos) and finally, he was left with a free game. Although, I want to think that jokingly, there are those who say that it is worth 500 thousand dollars, even if the price seems a bit high.

According to the creator, it all started as a joke upon discovering a exploit that allowed him to access the price cap on Steam, which was 500 thousand dollars. But hey, we won’t have to sell any of our body organs anymore to be able to test ‘MEGAJUMP’, which is a relief.
