And the title of the most beautiful folk bike of the 24 Hours of Cycling of Louvain-la-Neuve 2023 went to Kot Méca and its food truck bearing the emblematic Goldway brand.
As announced, the coveted title was played out between Kot Méca and Kot-à-Jeux (KAJ), two UCLouvain kots-à-project which have been competing for the prize in recent years. Over the last ten editions, both have won the game four times. They were therefore back to back and this year, it is therefore the “mechanics” who win the bet and take the lead.
It was a small matter, declared CSE Animations, the organizing project, commenting on the vote of the jury composed in particular of the mayor, representatives of the Residents’ Association and UCLouvain. Before the results were announced, the KAJ students made much more noise than their “competitors”, a sign that they were confident with their bike representing the house from the Disney animated film, “Up There”. But they will console themselves with a second place, and especially the children’s prize.

At the humanitarian level, the Cyclokot students finished first. They were riding for the benefit of Mots de Tom – Stop Harassment, a non-profit organization fighting once morest school bullying.
In the racing category, like last year, the Fahrbar team won the 24 Hours of Cycling, also placing its second team on the third step of the podium. The UCLouvain Wolves finish second.

Before that, the courageous ironworkers were treated to the Iyaz concert. As if by magic, like Tuesday before the victory lap, the pouring rain stopped. However, it will have cooled some people, the place being less crowded than last year.
However, the atmosphere was good-natured and the concert was pleasant to experience, although a little short, around 35 minutes, forcing the CSE Animations students to fill in the time before the final blow of the event, at 1 p.m.
The British singer will obviously have sung his flagship title Replay. We will even have the right to a replay of Replay and to the replay of the replay of Replaythe artist singing it a third time during the encore.
The organization satisfied with this 44th edition
“At the organizational level, we are very happy, there were no serious problems with the emergency servicescomments Noé Bierlaire, president of CSE Animations. We are relieved that everything went well, especially in view of the attack in Brussels last week. It was a quiet edition with a slightly lower attendance, given the weather. But the experience in the concert areas and in particular at the Leclercq car park was undoubtedly better: we did not experience any problems with entry and exit from this area, unlike last year. We just had to close access to Leclercq twice to limit entries, without having to stop the concerts. Which happened in 2022. For the rest, all our objectives (sporting, ecological, entertainment) were achieved.”
