The Moscow Exchange index exceeded 2300 points for the first time since the announcement of partial mobilization

The Moscow Exchange index at the beginning of trading exceeded 2300 points for the first time since September 20, 2022. This is evidenced by trading data.

As of 10:08, the index grew by 0.25% (2301.3 points), but at 10:13 it slowed down to 2298.99 points (+0.15%). The RTS index increased by 0.24%, rising to 953.69 points.

On February 21, during the message of President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly, the Moscow Exchange index grew by more than 2% and reached 2227.82 points.

At the end of 2022, the Moscow Exchange index lost 37%, a more significant drop was recorded only once – in 2008 (minus 60%). Even following the results of the default 1998, Russian shares did not fall in price so rapidly (minus 28%).
