The Moroccan national team qualified for the semi-finals of the seventh edition of the Africa Cup of Nations Indoor Football (Morocco 2024), following its strong victory over its Zambian counterpart, with a score of 13 goals to nil (13 – 0), in the match that brought them together, this Monday evening, on the floor of the Palace. Sports at the Prince Moulay Abdullah Sports Complex in Rabat, within the third round of the first group matches.
The goals of the national elite were scored by Bilal Al-Bakali, Anas Al-Ayyan, Sufyan Al-Shaarawi (a brace each), Sofiane Al-Masrar, Ismail Amazal, Idris Al-Fanni, Othman Al-Idrissi, Anas Dahhan, Youssef Jawad, and Jackson Siomawami (an own goal).
The Moroccan national team started the match strongly by scoring two goals early, despite the defensive cluster of the Zambian players.
The sons of coach Hisham Al-Dakik had a distinguished first half, scoring eight goals without conceding any.
At the end of this group’s matches, the Moroccan team raised its score to 9 points, at the top of the group, following defeating Angola, Ghana and Zambia.
The Moroccan national team is in the first group, along with the teams of Angola, Ghana, and Zambia, while the second group includes the teams of Egypt, Libya, Namibia, and Mauritania.
The competitions of this prestigious continental event will be held until April 21 in both the Ibn Yassine Hall and the Sports Palace in the Prince Moulay Abdullah Sports Complex in Rabat.
The teams that occupy the first three places in this competition qualify for the FIFA Indoor Football World Cup finals, which will be held between September 14 and October 6 in Uzbekistan.
Morocco, the two-time defending champion, also had the honor of organizing the previous edition of the African Cup of Nations indoor football in 2020 in the city of Laayoune.
