The Moroccan Jewish community of the world actively supports the Moroccanness of the Sahara (Amselem El Baz)

In a statement to MAP, on the sidelines of his participation in a conference on “the latest developments in the question of the Moroccan Sahara”, organized by the Moulay Abdeslam Ben Mchich Association for Development and Solidarity and the Relief Organization for Sahrawis from the Tindouf camps, Mr. Amselem El Baz underlined that the Moroccan Jews of the world “feel concerned by everything that can affect Morocco and respond to it by all means”, noting that “the Jews of the diaspora support and are 100% in solidarity with Morocco” in this artificial conflict.

In this context, he described as a “big strategic and geopolitical mistake” the Tunisian president’s recent welcome to the leader of the separatist militias, within the framework of the 8th summit of the Japan-Africa Cooperation Forum (TICAD), warning once morest “dangerous declarations and maneuvers aimed at dividing the Maghreb region instead of unifying it”.

The president of the Moroccan Jewish Association in Mexico also criticized Algeria’s continued efforts to lure countries to its “extremist line”, contrary to the outstretched hand of HM King Mohammed VI, who repeatedly stressed , the need to turn the page on the past, in order to establish peace and stability in the Maghreb region. Speaking at this event, Mr. Amselem El Baz, a native of Larache, assured that the southern provinces have always been an integral part of the Kingdom of Morocco, as confirmed by legal and historical evidence.

In this regard, he recalled the contribution of many Moroccan Jews in Latin America, as ambassadors of Morocco in their country of residence, to defend Moroccan issues and to face the lies and allegations of the enemies of integrity. territory of the Kingdom, emphasizing their contribution to the mobilization efforts in favor of the autonomy initiative in the southern provinces.

This meeting was an opportunity for speakers from the southern provinces of the Kingdom and Moroccans around the world to discuss the latest developments in the question of the Moroccan Sahara, and the growing international support for the autonomy of the southern provinces, in particularly from influential countries in the world, such as the United States, Spain and Germany, in addition to the opening of consulates representing approximately 30 countries in the cities of Laâyoune and Dakhla.
