Morocco is gradually inscribing its name in the world map of the automobile industry. Its ability to develop is confirmed year following year with innovative projects and investments in the sector. To support this dynamic, training programs for human resources are continuing.

The year 2023 for the automotive industry has been rich. This is evidenced by the monthly indicators of foreign trade published by the Foreign Exchange Office. Thus, sales in the automotive industry show an increase of 30.5%, standing at 116.38 billion dirhams (billion dirhams) at the end of October 2023. This development is attributable to the increase in sales in the automobile industry segment. construction (+10.873 billion dirhams), that of cabling (+9.641 billion dirhams) and that of vehicle and seat interiors (+1.915 billion dirhams).

In terms of competitiveness, Morocco has clearly taken a step forward in “Made in Morocco”. Indeed, a model of the car from the first Moroccan manufacturer and the prototype of a hydrogen vehicle developed by a Moroccan have seen the light of day. These two innovative projects will strengthen the positioning of the Moroccan automobile industry and its place as a competitive platform for automobile production. Neo Motors launched the delivery of its first vehicles at the beginning of December during a ceremony at its headquarters in Ain Aouda, marking the start of the marketing of the brand’s products.

In terms of human resources development, two agreements for strengthening training in the automotive industry were signed in March 2023, in Rabat, between the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, employment and skills, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the OFPPT, Renault Group Maroc as well as the company SNOP-Groupe FSD. These two agreements aim to support the evolution and development of the automotive industry by preparing qualified human resources in line with the skills needs of manufacturers.

The first agreement signed with Renault Group Morocco will make it possible to develop a diversified professional training offer dedicated to the automotive sector, as well as to meet the Human Resources needs of the Group and its ecosystem.

For its part, the second agreement was signed with the company SNOP on the development of a training offer in “industrial maintenance”. As part of this agreement, the SNOP company will develop work-study training in industrial maintenance and will provide technical-pedagogical equipment for the benefit of certain OFPPT training centers whose trainers will also be able to benefit from training sessions with a certification.
