The moment when Luis Grijalva visits the Doroteo Guamuch Flores
One day after arriving in Guatemala, Luis Grijalva visited the most emblematic sports venue in the country, the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium.

Luis Miguel Grijalva Morales is visiting the country. The 24-year-old athlete arrived in Guatemala on the night of Tuesday, March 19 and was received by Bernardo Arévalo, President of the Republic and also by different media outlets.
This Wednesday the 20th, already with a few hours of rest, Grijalva scheduled a visit to the most emblematic sports venue in Guatemala: the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium, named in honor of the Guatemalan who won the 1952 Boston Marathon and who is considered a legend of national athletics.
Upon his arrival at the Colossus in zone 5, Grijalva was smiling and when he got out of the vehicle in which he was traveling, he carefully observed the entrance to the national stadium and his entrance. appreciated the Mural of National Records of the Guatemalan Athletics Federation.
Grijalva’s name is engraved on said wall since he has five national marks: at 1,500, 3,000, 3,000 indoors, 5,000 and 10,000 meters, the last of these in fact was established just a few days before his visit to the country.
After a few moments at the mural, Luis marched towards the blue tartan track of Doroteo Guamuch Flores where he was received by several athletes who sent him their love and admiration for what he has achieved for Guatemalan athletics worldwide.
Finally Grijalva took a few moments for himself and did a brief training session inside the stadium.
Throughout his visit to the stadium, Luis never stopped smiling and showing admiration on his first visit to the largest sports facility in the country where he was born 24 years ago.
Luis Grijalva is one of the ten Guatemalan athletes who have a ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and his participation will be in the 5,000 meters. In Tokyo 2020 he reached the final and finished in 12th place, For Paris the distance runner dreams of the podium and a medal for Guatemala.
Luis Grijalva will remain in Guatemala for a couple more days while he finishes immigration procedures with his visa, while he is in the country he will share with family whom he will barely be getting to know, since he migrated when he was barely a year old and this is his first time in Guatemalan lands.
Despite that, Grijalva is positive and hopes to have a pleasant experience in Guatemala. In his schedule he plans to visit Quetzaltenango and visit some tourist sites in the country.
