In addition to fishing associations, the competent minister could transfer the right to fish management, which originally belongs to the state, to model farms, writes the Hvg.hu referring to a recent draft decree of the Ministry of Agriculture, which was released for public discussion on Tuesday.
The paper writes that previously only fishermen’s associations had the opportunity to enter into lease agreements with them for the use of natural waters in this way, following their written request, but at the end of last year model farms were already included in a salad law, and this will now be transferred to the relevant ministerial decree.
In Hungary, model farms were designated in 2020 by a government decision, based on which there are five of them, including one belonging to the company of OTP leader Sándor Csányi and one under the control of Minister of Construction and Transport János Lázár, the latter being Nemzeti Ménesbirtok és Tanggazdaság Zrt.
