The Ministry of Public Health announces the easing of the monitoring of COVID-19 from October 1st

THAILAND: The Ministry of Public Health plans to announce the surveillance of COVID-19 as a ‘simple’ contagious disease from October 1st.

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul revealed that the ministry will propose to recategorize COVID-19 from dangerous contagious disease to contagious disease under surveillance by the Committee on Contagious Diseases from October 1.

From September 1, COVID-19 patients will be able to purchase COVID medications from any hospital in the country without registration or public health procedures. The ministry also said that a support system and sufficient medications were available to treat and monitor the infection.

“The relaxation of disease surveillance will be proposed to an academic committee and to the Committee on Contagious Diseases. It should be effective from October 1st. said Mr. Anutin.

However, the population is frequently reminded to live with COVID by respecting the prevention measures despite the announced relaxations.
