The Ministry of Information announced that it has completed designing an investment bid to establish and manage a digital platform for the ministry to serve broadcast content over the Internet (OTT) according to the highest international standards in this field, in order to achieve the goals of the ministry’s strategy in implementing digital transformation and maximizing state revenues.
The official spokeswoman for the ministry, Anwar Murad, said in a press statement today, Sunday, that the launch of this platform comes under the direction of the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, within the framework of implementing the sustainable goals of the ministry’s strategy regarding digitization.
Murad explained that the establishment and management of the platform aims to display multimedia content such as documentaries that express Kuwaiti culture and its ancient heritage in various fields and TV series, in addition to showing historical radio programs, current and future television and radio programs, and providing video-on-demand service on a subscription basis.
She pointed out that the ministry will announce the launch of the investment bid during the coming period for this platform, indicating that this comes within a series of achievements made by the Ministry of Information in the field of digital transformation, following it monitored its requirements for the coming years through the establishment of a call center and the formation of technical teams to contribute to the success of this ambitious process to keep pace with the requirements.
