The media office of the Ministry of Public Health issued a statement saying, “After recording one death, and 15 cases of chemical poisoning, as a result of eating poisonous wild mushrooms, the Ministry of Health alerts the honorable citizens that there are types of wild mushrooms that are non-toxic and safe for consumption, while there are many types.” Toxic, ingestion may cause death or acute chemical poisoning.

The ministry pointed out that “poisonous and non-toxic mushrooms are very similar in shape, which makes distinguishing between them difficult for citizens.”

She added, “Only specialists in botany are able to distinguish between them. Therefore, the Ministry of Health warns citizens once morest eating wild mushrooms, as this poses a threat to their health and safety.”

It is reported that the 47-year-old Ahmed Ali Awada died of a rapid health condition as a result of poisoning with a poisonous wild mushroom, which put him in a coma and caused him kidney failure and blood poisoning within 24 hours.
