Today, Wednesday, a delegation from the Ministry of Health, headed by Dr. Manen Abdel Maksoud, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Rania Zakaria, Director General of the General Department for Hospital Affairs at the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, and Dr. Sayed Khalil, Director of the Planning and Follow-up Department at the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Treatment Addiction was accompanied by Dr. Hani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Beheira, Dr. Hamouda Al-Jazzar, the Undersecretary of the Directorate, and Dr. Nevin Al-Kateb, Member of Parliament, inspecting the site of the Family Health Center in Afulaqa in Damanhour Center, in preparation for the establishment of a medical complex that includes (mental health services – addiction treatment services – autism treatment center) In the Buhaira Governorate, to serve the people of the governorate and the neighboring governorates, and those residing in the West Delta region in general, and following inspecting the site, the ministerial delegation went to visit the Diwan Beheira Health Directorate .
The visit of the ministerial delegation came with the aim of identifying the provision of places designated for psychiatry and addiction treatment and centers of excellence for autism, as part of the efforts undertaken by the governorate in coordination with various Egyptian state institutions to eliminate the problem of drug abuse and addiction.
Dr. Hani Jameh confirmed that the establishment of this complex on the land of the lake is a source of pride for all the people of the lake and the neighboring governorates.
Pointing out that it will be a cultural shift for the entire region, and not just for the Lake District, and that the state pays great attention to developing the health and treatment system on a permanent and continuous basis, to provide and provide medical services in all specialties, especially psychiatry.
And that there is permanent cooperation between the Directorate of Health and Population in the lake, and the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse in the Council of Ministers, and that this cooperation has yielded great and distinguished results, and many initiatives have been implemented to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking and drug addiction.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Major General Hisham Amna, Governor of the lake, for the continuous attention and support he gives to the health sector in the lake, and his thanks and appreciation to the visiting ministerial delegation.
Dr. Hammouda El-Gazzar also stressed that this comes within the framework of the continuous development of health services provided to the people of the lake and to overcome all obstacles in front of the people, who are forced to go to Alexandria, Tanta, Cairo and other governmental and private places that provide psychiatric care services, and that the establishment of this complex is a pride for every Bahrawi citizen. And it would lift the burden and suffering from the shoulders of the patients and their families who need psychiatric care from the people of the lake.
This comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s interest in the continuous development of the health system and work to improve the level of services provided to it, to include all services and specializations, including the mental health and addiction treatment file, and to expand the provision of mental health services and addiction treatment in all governorates of the Republic.
