Politiken thus writes that Food Minister Jacob Jensen (V) will call the association to a meeting.
The meeting will not be about the specific case with Carina Cassøe Krüth, but more generally about the union’s sanctions.
It is the second time in less than a year that Jacob Jensen has called the riding association to a meeting.
In November 2023, hidden TV 2 recordings showed violent training methods at the stud of dressage rider Andreas Helgstrand.
Helgstrand was subsequently suspended for the whole of 2024. The case meant that he had to give up his dream of coming to the Olympics in Paris.
– I explained to them clearly and unequivocally that it was not something I looked at with mild eyes, says the minister with allusion to how the first meeting with the equestrian association went.
Jacob Jensen is also critical of the fact that a police report has not been filed in connection with the case of Carina Cassøe Krüth.
– You could well have chosen to do that, so that you are not satisfied with an internal sanction, but had an authority look into whether something has taken place that is in violation of the legislation, says the minister.
On 14 August, Cassøe Krüth was temporarily excluded from the federation’s gross squad and the national team.
The exclusion applies while the appeals committee deals with a case investigating a video of Cassøe Krüth during a training incident with a horse.
In the video, Cassøe Krüth is seen whipping her horse twice.
Carina Cassøe Krüth was intended for a role as a reserve on the Danish dressage team at the Olympics in Paris, but she withdrew a few hours before the announcement of the squad after a report to the disciplinary committee of the equestrian association.
The disciplinary committee had received a video of Cassøe Krüth and subsequently awarded her a fine of DKK 5,000.
Morten Schram Rodtwitt, who is director of DRF, however, said in connection with Cassøe Krüth’s exclusion to TV 2 that there had been a wish in the association’s board that the matter should be dealt with again.
Therefore, the DRF’s appeal committee is in the process of deciding on the case.
