Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, said that his ministry is studying converting the loaves of bread owed to the citizen into conditional cash support when the currency and inflation stabilize, indicating that he discussed the idea with Parliament, but the timing of the decision is not appropriate now.

Al-Moselhi added, during a telephone conversation with the journalist Amr Adib, on the “Al-Hekaya” program, on Sunday evening, that the current inflation factor is variable and rising, and the ministry will not be able with it to change the value of the subsidy, adding: “When inflation and prices stabilize, we apply the conversion to money on the card, The citizen buys what he wants.

The Minister of Supply confirmed that all agencies in the country are cooperating to mitigate the unprecedented inflation that Egypt is witnessing, stressing the availability of all basic commodities at the Welcome Ramadan exhibitions and government outlets with discounts of up to 25% on some commodities.

He pointed out that the price of rice ranges between 14 and 17 pounds, sugar between 14 and 16 pounds, and a bottle of 0.8 ml of mixed oil between 34 and 36 pounds.
