The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tahraoui, was able to calm the anger of health professionals after an emergency meeting that took place in Rabat, with the national union coordination for the health sector, which resulted in a preliminary agreement to respond to the demands of the professionals.
The coordination stated, in a statement, that Al-Tahrawi pledged, during this meeting, “to search for legal solutions that guarantee the centralization of financial positions and wages and confirm the status of a public employee.”
Regarding the rapid and proper implementation of the July 23, 2024 agreement, Al-Tahrawi stressed his “commitment to continue implementing all points of the agreement signed with the government and quickly during the coming days.”
On a related issue, and regarding the education sector, negotiating dialogue sessions continue between the five most representative educational unions and the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, recording tangible progress in addressing a group of outstanding issues.
According to data announced by the National Education Union affiliated with the Democratic Confederation of Labor, the Ministry confirmed, during the same meeting, the continuation of addressing the problems of ranks and demarcation that concern those transferring between academies in coordination with the relevant sectors. It was also agreed that the Technical Committee would complete the discussion on the articles of the transitional movement’s draft resolution, consisting of 30 articles, the day after tomorrow, Thursday.
