In an interview with ERT on Thursday night, the Minister of Education mentioned, among other things, in the measure of the restoration of damages to schools by parents, Kyriakos Pierrakakis. When asked if the specific measure will work, he said that he thinks that how vertically yes, and that it is something we have been discussing for years.
As for who will do the attribution of the damage, he answered that it will start from the teachers’ association at the school, the Municipality will be added to the equation because the schools belong to the Municipality and from then on if the parent does not want to pay the specific damage, this will now go to the tax office and be confirmed from there.
Regarding the building infrastructure, he said, among other things, that we will wait to hear what the prime minister has to say at the TIF on this issue. “In any case, in the next period you will see the help of all of us to be able to improve the condition of the school roof. There is an issue, the schools must come in 2024 as public infrastructure.”
Asked if teachers have the necessary expertise to be able to integrate interactive whiteboards into school activities, the Minister of Education pointed out that there are training programs that teachers use and which the Institute for Educational Policy has developed. “The protagonist is always the teacher and the relationship he develops with the student,” he emphasized. Interactive tables have been installed in the fifth and sixth grade, in middle school and high school.
