As a preamble to the long-awaited Antioquian soccer classic at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, the mini classics have returned as part of the Culture of Soccer program.
The first meeting took place on the field in the Antonio Nariño neighborhood, in the 13-San Javier commune, with more than 800 people in attendance.
In this event, the organized bars of Deportivo Independiente Medellín and Atlético Nacional, along with fans, team managers, the Metropolitan Police and representatives of the District Administration, came together to play a match that seeks to promote coexistence and tolerance in the sport.
«This strategy marks the return of the classics in peace and reactivates the Football Culture program. These initiatives have the primary objective of eradicating violence, both inside and outside the stadiums, promoting an environment of healthy coexistence and mutual respect,” said Manuel Villa Mejía, Secretary of Security and Coexistence.

Who highlighted the importance of tolerating rivals and sharing in the same space despite differences.
The leaders of the bars expressed their commitment to the city and peaceful coexistence.
Ricardo Jaramillo Vélez, Secretary of Youth stated:
«Today is a day of celebration in Medellín, because the Football Culture returns. With this miniclásico we are showing that football can be lived in peace and coexistence. The tribune is a reflection of our society. The invitation is for us to work together to demonstrate that both on and off the fields we can build from differences and unite in football through values.”
The Football Culture program was established as public policy through Draft Agreement 075 of 2017, thus consolidating its commitment to promoting a football culture based on coexistence and mutual respect.
