ABU DHABI, 14th October, 2018 (WAM) – The Million Poet Program “Season Eleven” platform at the Abu Dhabi Poetry Festival is witnessing strong competition among more than 500 participants in jury interviews that continue throughout the festival’s days at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).

The unique hosting of the “Million Poet” program within the festival confirms the goals of the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi, which aims to provide poetic experiences that contribute to the development and sustainability of the cultural and intellectual movement.

Hosting also reflects the keenness to strengthen the emirate’s position as an incubator for poetry, poets and talents, and an Arab capital that supports creative content, which in turn develops literary taste, raises cultural and intellectual awareness in the Arab world, and enriches the Arab cultural scene.

Through the Million Poet Program platform, direct interviews are conducted with the poets by the program’s jury, in order to select the poets nominated for the 100 poets stage from among the candidates.

Those who qualify for the next stage will undergo written tests and interviews with the jury and advisory committee together, in order to determine the poets who qualify for the list of 48 poets who will participate in the live broadcast episodes from Al Raha Beach Theater in Abu Dhabi to compete for the Burqa Poetry Prize, and win the title and prize of the largest program for Nabati poetry.
