The Military Academy plans to renovate the complex of buildings in accordance with NATO standards

As reported by the Ministry of National Defense (KAM), the academy has prepared a long-term vision for the development of its infrastructure, which is being developed to implement a plan for the renovation of older buildings and the renewal of the entire territory and to create learning, work, living and representative spaces that meet the highest standards.

“We are glad that the Ministry of National Defense has approved the implementation of this vision and funding will be allocated for it. This will make it possible to consistently implement the infrastructure development plan of the territory of the Lithuanian Military Academy, prepared taking into account the analysis of the territory, the rules of architecture and urbanism, the opinion of the Academy community and other documents”, says Brigadier General Almantas Leika, head of the Lithuanian Military Academy.

New and renovated buildings and spaces are named in the plan – amphitheater auditoriums, dormitory with public space and cadets’ yard, conference center, memorial square, where a place for the monument of General Jonas Žemaitis is planned, community park. It is planned to allocate a permanent space in the building of the library for the activities of the Vilnius “Iron Vilka” rifle company of the Lithuanian Rifle Association.

It is reported that the approval of the vision is the first step in the process of transforming the territory of General Jonas Žemaitis Lithuanian Military Academy.
