The Migration Department revoked V. Ivanov’s permanent residence permit in Lithuania

“The Migration Department has confirmed that Russian citizen Valery Ivanov’s permanent residence permit in Lithuania has been revoked. Such a decision was made after the Migration Department conducted an investigation, analyzed publicly available information and received additional information from the responsible institutions of the country – the State Security Department, the Police Department, the State Border Guard Service,” the Migration Department said in a comment submitted to BNS on Thursday.

The decision was sent to V. Ivanov on Wednesday, he can appeal within 14 days.

This was first reported by LNK news.

“When it is approved by the court that I have to leave Lithuania, my homeland, then I will have to somehow consider this issue,” V. Ivanov told LNK.

At the end of September, the prosecutor’s office charged the former leader of the pro-Soviet organization “Jedinstvo” with public support for international, Soviet crimes against Lithuania and helping another state act against Lithuania.

According to the Migration Department, even if the decision to cancel V.Ivanov’s permit becomes valid before the end of the criminal proceedings, he would have to stay in Lithuania while it continues, and pretrial measures will be assigned to him.

However, after it ends and the decision becomes effective, you will have to leave.
