The Michigan jury begins hearing the cases of two people accused of conspiring to kidnap the governor.

Adam Fox, 39, and Barry Croft Jr, 46, face life in prison if convicted of kidnapping and weapons conspiracy in federal court in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

A procedural flaw was found at their first trial in April, while two other defendants were found not guilty in one of the most high-profile cases of recent years, involving domestic terrorism and militia charges.

Croft is also charged with possession of an explosive device, which prosecutors say the alleged conspirators planned to use in the plot.

The pair are among 13 men who were arrested in October 2020 and charged with state or federal crimes in connection with the alleged kidnapping plot. Seven of them face charges in state court.
