Asuncion, IP Agency.- In the first six months of the year, the Regional Offices of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), located in different parts of the country, provided more than 4,000 services in general to MSMEs, entrepreneurs and companies; as well as issuing more than 500 Certificates of Origin.
There are a total of nine Regional Offices of the MIC (Ormic), operating in the country, which are located in Alto Paraná, Amambay, Concepción, Cordillera, Caaguazú, Guairá, Itapúa, Ñeembucú and Boquerón.
The Ormic provide assistance with training to micro, small and medium-sized companies in the localities in which they are located. At the end of June, the number of consultations for MSMEs, entrepreneurs, industries and companies in general reached a total of 3,121, while the number of people trained was 1,700 in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, the courses, workshops and talks reached a total of 48.
The General Directorate of Regional Development is coordinating with the Vice Ministry of MSMEs the process of unifying the Regional Offices with the Entrepreneur Support Centers (CAE), to strengthen the MIC in the interior of the country. In addition, in the case of the premises that are rented to the Ormic, it translates into a reduction in the Ministry’s expenses of G. 89,527,656 per year, in the concept of rent, water, electricity, without taking into account other expenses.
Regional offices also conduct talks to raise awareness regarding MIC programs, as well as to explain how opening a Simplified Joint Stock Company (EAS) works, and the tools for industrial development with an emphasis on regional application.
Regional Offices also hold working meetings between the public and private sectors, involving production associations, local authorities and universities.
Issuance of Certificates of Origin
According to the latest report from the Regional Development Directorate of the State Undersecretary of Industry of the MIC, the Ormic issued a total of 523 Certificates of Origin. With the issuance of these documents, in addition to decentralizing the MIC services in the national territory, it implies an economic income for the institution.
Some 16 Online Industrial Registers (RIEL) were issued by the Regional Offices. It is important to mention that this document is a General National Register of companies that carry out any type of industrial activity within the national territory.
The procedures for the Registry of Service Providers (REPSE), the Unified System for Opening and Closing Companies (SUACE) and registration of MSMEs reached a total of 103 in the first half of 2024.
