Director-General of the Meteorological Department Issue warning notice 9-14 July Beware of heavy to very heavy rain and strong waves in the Andaman Sea from monsoon influence
07 July 2022 – Ms. Chompari Chompurat, Director-General of the Meteorological Department issued a meteorological department announcement regarding “heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand and strong waves in the Andaman Sea (Effective from 9-14 July 2022)” No. 1 dated 07 July 2022 states that
During 9-14 Jul 65, the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen. In addition, during 10-12 Jul 65, the monsoon trough will move down over the North. Upper Northeast into a low pressure cell in the upper South China Sea causing Thailand to have more rain with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas in the North The northeastern region, the central region, including Bangkok and its surrounding provinces, the eastern and southern regions, urge people to beware of heavy to very heavy rainfall and cumulative rain that can cause flash floods and flash floods. as well as increase caution in traveling through areas with thunderstorms
For wind waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand will be stronger. In the Andaman Sea, the wave height is 2-3 meters. The thunderstorm area has the wave height more than 3 meters. The wave height in the upper Gulf of Thailand is regarding 2 meters. The thunderstorm area has the wave height more than 2 meters. The area is navigable with caution. and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas Small boats in the Andaman Sea should also stay ashore during 9-14 Jul 65.
