In Peshawar, students from 46 universities from across the country and the people of Peshawar and educational institutions are participating in wall painting and wall chalking competitions, in which various social themes are selected.
These competitions are being organized with the support of private IT and Science University SEKAS and Peshawar District Administration and District Youth Affairs Office (District Youth Affairs).
In this regard, initially pictures and wall chalking are being done on the outer walls of Khyber Teaching Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital, while a deadline of June 4 has been given to complete more places.
At the end of the competitions, a ceremony will be held on June 5, where cash prizes and certificates will be given to the first, second and third place winners.
Speaking to Independent Urdu on the second round of the competition at LRH, Arslan Bashir, a student of Sekas University, said that peace and love and other important themes have been chosen in this overall wall chalking and painting competition.
For this purpose, eight locations such as both entrance and exit of LRH, KTH, Ashraf Road, Railway Headquarters Sadar, Rescue Headquarters, School No. 2 Hashtangri have been selected.
Arslan Bashir said that for this competition, a longest wall is first prepared by cleaning and then 10 to 15 portraits are made on it, which takes three to four hours or more.
“Our first competition started at KTH at 11 o’clock in the day, and despite the heat, the youngsters participated enthusiastically.”
Assistant Commissioner Hashim Rao, who is overseeing the project on behalf of the district administration, told Independent Urdu that the district administration was approached by a group of students from Sikkas University, whose idea was appreciated by the DC office and they promised financial support and all kinds of support in this regard.

We have initially budgeted six lakhs for this. At present the students are bearing their own expenses, at the end all expenses will be estimated and paid.’
Assistant Commissioner Peshawar further said that the feedback of the related project is very good from the first day, so it is possible that they may expand this project by including more organizations or institutions in the future.
He said that the district administration was already working on the project of ‘Clean and Green Peshawar’, so they combined ‘Wall Graffiti’ with it.
On the occasion of the wall graffiti, female students told Independent Urdu that standing on the side of the road in Peshawar and painting on the wall in the midst of people was a unique experience.
Student Ghulam Fatima said that people who come and go keep looking at him and show interest in the ongoing painting on the wall.
