The Mental Health Promotion Committee is looking into developing services

The Ministry of Health and Community Protection in its Diwan in Dubai hosted the meeting of the National Committee for the Promotion of Mental Health in the country, with the aim of implementing the initiatives of the National Mental Health Policy, which relate to the development and expansion of comprehensive and integrated mental health services, and the consolidation of multi-sectoral cooperation between the concerned authorities.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Hussein Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, Chairman of the National Committee for the Promotion of Mental Health in the country, and Dr. Lubna Al Shaali, Director of the Health Policies and Legislation Department at the Ministry, Vice Chairman of the Committee, with the participation of representatives of health authorities and partners from the governmental and private sectors.

Dr. Hussain Al Rand reviewed before the meeting what had been achieved in terms of promoting mental health, stressing the importance of the committee’s role and tasks, which include a package of initiatives aimed at achieving an innovative, sustainable and scalable model of mental health care, and setting policies that would bring regarding change according to a future vision that would achieve the establishment of a more society. Health and happiness.

Dr. Rand indicated that promoting mental health is a government priority.

For her part, Dr. Lubna Al-Shaali explained that the meeting discussed the follow-up and evaluation of the implementation of the strategic plan of the national policy to promote mental health.
