A new “supergroup” joins the Chilean music scene. Is regarding The Memory Band All Starsa group that was activated for the commemorative event for the 50 years of the Coup d’état in La Moneda and that has prominent names from the local circuit.
The superband, which includes These boxes (Regia Orquesta, historical collaborator of Los Tres), Jorge Campos (So-and-so, Congress, Santiago del Nuevo Extremo), Ismael Oddó (Quilapayun), Edita Rojas (Home appliances), Giorgio Varas (cultural manager and producer, director of the Womad Chile Festival and the Fondas del Parque O’Higgins) and Pedro Villagra (Santiago del Nuevo Extremo, Pedroband, Inti Illimani), will offer his first solo concert in the Sala Master of the University of Chile next Wednesday December 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Following in the wake of groups such as Cream, The Traveling Wilburys, Blind Faith, Weather Report, Los Red Caps and Pescado Rabioso, among others, this supergroup took shape to accompany the musical acts heard at La Moneda last September.
There, for example, they were part of the show My Laferte in his viralized reversal of “Manifest”the classic by Víctor Jara.
The sextet, according to the statement announcing their upcoming plans, is described “capable of representing the great variety of genres and styles that mark the paths of Chilean popular music of the last 50 years”.
This year, with the name of “The Memory Band All Stars” and in addition to the concert at La Moneda, the group performed at the Fondas del Parque O’Higgins and as support for Ismael Serrano’s “Concert for Memory” at Plaza la Paz in Recoleta.
The repertoire, for its part, “includes original songs and reinterpretations of songs from the national songbook originating in the poetic resistance once morest the dictatorship, but with full validity in the current situation: a link with the musical history of the country, in which they have had (and of course) art and part.”

Tickets for the concert are on sale via PortalTickets, with pre-sale at $15,000 and 2×1 promotion at $20,000. On the day of the event, each one will cost $20,000.
