The Medicine career that will be taught in Catamarca in the future will have an annual leveling cycle of medicine similar to other universities, such as the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where the student enters the career in this way.
A few days ago, the first meeting of the commission for the creation, implementation and dictation of the Medicine career was held at the National University of Catamarca (UNCA), in order to continue advancing in the profile of the professional and in the planning of a studies.
“We want in these two months to present the project to the Superior Council so that the Medicine career in Catamarca can be approved. This commission will meet weekly. The idea is to move as fast as possible; we know that it is a need and a demand of Catamarcan society”, said Claudia Palladino, professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
In addition, he anticipated that the career will have an annual leveling cycle of medicine similar to other universities, such as the UBA, where the student enters the career in this way. “Today we define many issues, it was a very productive meeting and the idea is to move forward with more technical work. With the draft of the project, we will convene other actors, such as the Medical Association of Catamarca, so that they contribute their ideas and in this way be a study plan as rich as possible with the profile of the doctor that Catamarca needs, not only the medium term but in the long term.
The Minister of Health, Manuela Ávila, in turn, assured that the Province contributes with “knowledge of the health system and the needs it has to train doctors.” “It is the first meeting of the commission in our province, there have already been meetings in Tucumán with the advisory team of the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Tucumán.”
