The Minister of Health wrote on Twitter:
“After we completed with the Deputy Minister @mthemisto and Mrs. G. Vildiridou the evacuation of the ‘Paedon Pentelis’ hospital, we visited the ‘Aglaia Kyriakou’ Hospital in the morning together with Mrs. Genika and met all the children who were transferred. They are all safe and their treating doctors are also monitoring them at the Hospital where we had to transfer them for safety reasons. Then at noon I visited the first Hospital that is currently on duty, ‘Evangelismos’ and we saw with the Administration the absolute dedication of its staff on a difficult day. Together with the General Secretary and the Director of the 1st Ministry of Health, Mr. Olga Balaoura and the Director of the EKAV, Mr. Papaevstathiou, we implemented the evacuation plan, for preventive reasons, of the ‘Amalia Fleming’ Hospital. With Ms. Balaoura and Deputy Minister @DimVartzopoulos we are managing a very difficult situation, as 3 private psychiatric Hospitals were simultaneously evacuated in the affected areas. All patients and light and heavy cases have been moved to appropriate areas safely. Then I visited the other two Hospitals in Attiki, i.e. ‘Agia Olga’ in Nea Ionia and ‘Attikon’ in Haidari. Their shifts are going absolutely smoothly without any increased pressure due to the fire. Since yesterday, a total of 66 incidents related to the fire were found in KY or Hospitals of the NHS. The 65 had mild breathing problems and one had minor burns that did not require hospitalization. Now with the Deputy Minister Ms. Agapidakis we are at the Melissia Swimming Pool, where residents have been transferred from the evacuations, and then we will be at the TYPET park in Vrilissia. We have set up a Mobile Health Unit to see any patients among them and will assist them if they need anything further. The battle continues but we are fully prepared. Follow the instructions of Civil Protection”.
After we finished with the deputy minister @mthemisto and Ms. G. Vildiridou the evacuation of the “Pendelis Children’s” Hospital, we visited in the morning, together with the General Secretary, the “Aglaia Kyriakou” Hospital and met all the children who were transferred.
