The MD of MAP receives the head of Israel’s liaison office in Morocco

Rabat – The Director General of the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), Mr. Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, recently received at the MAP headquarters in Rabat, the head of Israel’s liaison office in Morocco, Mr. David Gorvin .

The two officials emphasized, on this occasion, the importance of the media and the press in strengthening and consolidating relations between countries and bringing peoples together.

They underlined, more particularly, the role of MAP in supporting the rapprochement between Morocco and Israel, two countries whose relations have been changing rapidly since the signing of the tripartite agreement, Morocco-Israel-USA.

In this respect, Mr. Hachimi Idrissi emphasized the interest accorded by MAP to Israel in particular and to the Middle East region in general, citing the assignment by the Moroccan Press Agency of a correspondent in Israel, a country that reports to the Agency’s Middle East unit.

The MD of MAP insisted, moreover, on the important role of the elites in the rapprochement between Morocco and Israel, but also between the Arab world and Israel, specifying that the real prelude to this proximity remains the strengthening of relations in areas as important as culture, media, arts, cinema, etc.

Morocco is a country that has always distinguished itself by positions marked by moderation and wisdom, indicated, for his part, Mr. Gorvin, noting that the Kingdom is a country enamored with the values ​​of peace and tolerance, which makes him a model to follow in the region.

The head of Israel’s liaison office in Morocco welcomed, in this context, the development of relations between Morocco and Israel, citing in particular in this context the multiplication of visits by officials from the two countries, at all levels.
