The Mbigou-Lebamba axis, difficult to pass through during the rainy season due to lack of bitumen, has been cut in two following a landslide for nearly a week.
The commune of Mbigou, capital of the department of Boumi-Louetsi in the province of Ngounie (south) is cut off from the rest of Gabon. There is no longer a road to ensure the flow of traffic following a landslide. Exasperated locals have issued alerts on social media.
“There is the Mbigou – Lebamba road which has been almost without access for 5 days already, so from Friday to Tuesday today it’s been 5 days, there was a landslide, a mountain fell completely on the road, and we can no longer access Lebamba for 5 days”, launched a native of Mbigou who called for government intervention.
The suffering is perceptible within the population of Mbigou who no longer know which way to turn, to evacuate many patients who seek every day at any time the hospital of Bongolo, located in Lebamba, departmental capital of Louetsi Wano .
