The intendant of Tabossi, Néstor Landra, 54 years old, was found dead this Saturday, January 27 in Entre Ríos. Investigators suspect it was suicide. His body was found in a rural area with a gunshot wound. The communal chief had gone in the morning to borrow a shotgun from a friend to supposedly go hunting.
Since Landra did not answer her cell phone for several hours, the family notified the police, who began a search. Investigators found him in the middle of the road between Tabossi and Viale, regarding 50 kilometers east of Paraná, according to local media.
The body had been shot and was leaning once morest a tree.
After hearing the news, the governor Rogelio Frigerio and his predecessor Gustavo Bordet, whose cabinet Landra was a member of, bid him farewell with heartfelt messages. “I deeply regret the death of Néstor Landra, mayor of Tabossi. My accompaniment in this difficult moment goes to his family, his friends and all of his people who say goodbye to him today,” Frigerio wrote.
Bordet, for his part, shared: “It is with great consternation that we have to say goodbye to Mole Landra today. UA man of politics, of Peronism and of his people, Tabossi, of which he was mayor. A very committed and active official. My deepest condolences to his family.”

Néstor Landra was elected mayor of his town four times and then was Secretary of Transportation during the administration of Gustavo Bordet. Last June he resigned from his position.

In the last elections, he faced his cousin, Liliana Landra, internally. “We have numerous differences that are due to both institutional decisions and simple procedures, showing that we are not the same and we do not have the same path. As you know, my style is different and I am faithful to it,” he said then. He finally won the All for Tabossi race, and then became mayor of the municipality of Tabossi.
