The PSOE and the PP of Fontanar (Guadalajara) have requested an extraordinary plenary session for the mayor, Víctor San Vidal, to clarify a discussion between him and a municipal worker last Sunday at the Casa de la Juventud, which has been disseminated through of a video on social networks. For its part, The councilor has asked for forgiveness and has announced that he is taking leave due to mental health.
According to the socialists, this video would show the sequence of a conflict between the two people, hearing how one treats the other in a certain way. “completely unacceptable, uttering scandalous screams, humiliation or insults.”
For this reason, the PSOE has asked the councilor to give “the appropriate explanations to clarify what happened.” Likewise, the socialist spokesperson, Andrea Martínez, wanted to underline the “strong condemnation of any manifestation of violence, insults or mistreatment towards other people.”
“Disgusting”
For his part, the PP spokesperson in the City Council, Javier Viecohas also requested an extraordinary plenary session and has asked the mayor for “explanations.”
“Since Sunday followingnoon a video has been broadcast regarding a shameful and disgusting scenein which you can hear screams and a humiliating attitude from one person towards another,” he said.
For Vieco, this situation is “alarmingly serious”, so it has to be clarified and explained “as soon as possible.”
The mayor apologizes and takes leave
For its part, Víctor San Vidal has publicly apologized for the incident and has announced that he is taking mental health leave, on the recommendation of specialists. “I deeply and sincerely regret the incident that occurred. The ones that They know they know that this behavior is not typical of me and that my character is deeply peaceful, tolerant and respectful,” he explained.
“What happened was absolutely exceptional and has a clear and regrettable explanation: a situation of accumulated stress and extreme nervous tension that I have been carrying for some time, due to a heavy workload and the responsibilities that I carry out with enormous lack of means. Also to a situation of media and judicial persecution from which I still defend myself and which made me explode at the most unexpected moment,” he stated.
