The mayor of Churumuc, Michoacán, is shot to death

MORELIA.- Guillermo Torres RojasMayor of Churumuc was murdered in a taco shop in Moreliain Michoacan.

According to local media, the municipal president was inside the ‘El Infierno’ taqueria, on Madero Poniente Avenue in the Molina de Parras colony, with his family when the attack occurred.

Armed individuals entered the establishment and shot at them; Eight gunshot wounds to the chest were reported.

The municipal president died in a private hospital in Morelia while receiving medical attention. His son was injured in the hand following the attack.

So far there is no information regarding the possible motives for the attack.

Torres Rojas, 39 years old, became president of the municipality in the last elections; In 2022 he left the PRI and made public his sympathy for Morena.
