Maude Dambremont was found guilty by the Hainaut Assize Court of attempted murder of her son Yann, aged seven months, on August 29, 2019. She is also guilty of having murdered the child, on September 15, 2019 .
His mother, Yann’s grandmother, testified at our microphone at the end of the jury’s deliberations. “She never hurt her children, she was manic with them“, she said in tears. “But yes, she was a liar. It’s true.“
She explains that Maude Dambremont had a difficult childhood.”I didn’t give enough affection, not enough love“, she says. “It’s hard. I didn’t have an easy life with Maude’s dad. I was beaten and sexually abused. I ran away with the two little ones.“

“I never saw anything”
Laurence Renier says he has never seen the slightest violence. “She would never have harmed my grandchildren“, she insists. “She swore to me from the start that she never did anything to her baby. I never saw anything. She never asked me anything because she wanted to come across as a good mother.“”
Regarding the guilty verdict, Yann’s grandmother said: “I think a lot of people turned their coat on her.“
Laurence Renier is having a very difficult time with this period: “I’ve been sick since she was incarcerated. It’s very hard, I don’t live anymore.“
The sentencing verdict will take place tomorrow.
