Summit in the Allsvenskan after two thirds of the series. Yellow-black-striped Hammarby against red-white Gais. Before kick-off, both teams lined up and paid tribute to the great coach Sven Göran Eriksson, who has passed away today.
Already in the first minute, Gais received a corner. The post was far too short and Warner Hahn could take care of the return. Shortly afterwards, Gais came closer to taking the lead, again this time via a cross that was headed wide by Ahl Holmström. In the fourth minute, Mervan Celik had a shot in the penalty area that goalkeeper Hahn was able to parry.
After ten minutes, Hammarby were up in Gai’s half for a longer period and came close to getting a couple of finishes on goal. They came close after 13 minutes when Nahir Besara sent in a cross for Jusef Erabi who lunged for the ball, but missed.
A minute later, Gais came to another finish on goal. This time via Milovanovic, but Hahn managed. Shortly afterwards, Gustav Lundgren shot at a Bajen defender and into the corner.
In the 18th minute, Hammarby received a free kick outside one short side of the penalty area after Tekie was brought down. At the ball was Nahir Besara who screwed in a cross – onto a Gais defender and out of the penalty area.
In the 20th minute, Gais Amatkarijo got into a good position on his right wing and forced Victor Eriksson to steer the ball out to the corner. In the subsequent sequence, Gustav Lundgren tore down Touré and received a yellow card.
In the 26th minute, Hammarby and Bazoumana Touré counterattacked. The 18-year-old advanced to a good shooting position and pulled over – narrowly wide. In the 31st minute, Hampus skoglund and Mervan Celik smoked together. It all ended. Skoglund was lying on the artificial grass and received treatment. After Skoglund got to his feet, almost all of Tele2 whistled for Celik to be punished with a yellow card. No action from Judge Al Hakim.
A few minutes later, Tesfaldet Tekie was cautioned after bringing down Milovanovic, to the anger of the Hammarby crowd. Hammarby created a lot of half-chances at the end of the second half and had taken command of the game.
An intense and tough half to one. Hammarby: 0. Gais: 0.
Before the second half, both Hammarby and Gais made one change each. In the home team, Hampus Skoglund went out and was replaced by Dennis Collander. In Gais, Joackim Åberg stepped out and was replaced by Robin Wendin Thomasson.
In the 50th minute, Gustav Lundgren got into a good position in the penalty area and feinted Tekie away. The shot against the far post was good but Warner Hahn’s save better. Three minutes later, Hammarby, through Touré and Pinas, got into a good position. The action by Touré that led to Pina’s finish was very good, the left-back’s finish was covered.
In the 56th minute, Gais Mervan Celik went out and was replaced by Axel Henriksson.
In the 64th minute, Hahn had to prove himself awake again when Ahl Holmström hit the spot with a header on a post. Two minutes later it was close the other way. Again after Bazoumana Touré was responsible for a solid preparatory work and passed diagonally inwards at the back. The shot was taken this time by Oscar Johansson Schellhas, and in cover.
In the 68th minute, Gais made two new substitutions. Out went Harun Ibrahim and Chovanie Amatkarijo. They were replaced by Filip Gustavsson and Amin Boudri. Shortly after, Gais created two dangerous chances, one just going over the crossbar after a cross-post control. In the 72nd minute, Tesfaldet Tekie left and was replaced by Fredrik Hammar.
In the 79th minute, the Bajen crowd called for a penalty after Touré fell to the ground in the penalty area. Once again, Judge Mohamed Al Hakim acquitted. Soon after, Oscar Johansson Schellhas was replaced by Montader Madjed.
The referee announced four minutes of added time this evening and both teams continued to go for goals and three points. There weren’t any of those this evening.
Match over. Hammarby: 0. Gais: 0. Shared pot at Tele2 Arena.
