The mastermind of the Crimean bridge attack is the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence

The Russian Federal Security Service revealed today, Wednesday, that the “organizer of The terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge He is the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kirill Budanov.

The Russian security said in a statement: “It has been proven that the organizers of The terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, They are: elements of the Central Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, its head Kirill Budanov, its employees and agents.

The statement indicated that so far, 5 Russian citizens and 3 citizens of Ukraine and Armenia have been arrested, who were involved in preparing the crime, adding that the investigation into the attack is continuing.

Russian intelligence confirmed that it had arrested 8 suspects in Crimean bridge bombing. The Interfax news agency quoted a Russian security agency as saying that 5 Russians and 3 citizens of Ukraine and Armenia had been detained in connection with the Crimean Bridge bombing.

Intelligence indicated that the explosives were hidden in “plastic wrapping rolls” that were sent in August from the port of Odessa in Ukraine, and then transited through Bulgaria, Georgia and Armenia, before entering Russia.

This comes as the Russian security services said on Wednesday that they had thwarted an attempted attack in the Moscow region and another in Bryansk, near Ukraine, accusing Kyiv of preparing for these attacks.

In two separate statements carried by Russian news agencies, the FSB said it had arrested a Ukraine suspect of preparing a rocket launcher attack in the Moscow region, and another accused of wanting to organize an explosive attack on a logistics center in Bryansk.

Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath correspondents in Russia reported that the Federal Security Service detained an agent claiming to be working for the Ukrainian intelligence in the suburbs of Moscow. It added that he allegedly prepared terrorist attacks using two Igla MANPADS missiles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Saturday that the attack on the bridge was “terrorist”, as it damaged the bridge linking Russia to Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014.

This bridge is of symbolic and strategic importance as it is used to transport Russian supplies to southern Ukraine, where Kyiv forces are launching a counterattack.

The attack on the bridge came following a series of military setbacks suffered by Moscow in the northeast, east and south of Ukraine.
