The man arrested in Athens with the explosives was sentenced to life in prison

Known to the authorities and with a criminal past is 39-year-old Armiol Rrasa, originally from Albania, who was arrested together with his wife, Daniela Luari, in the center of Athens, when explosives and a weapon were found in their luxury vehicle.

According to police sources, Rrasa was sentenced to life in prison in 2008 on drug charges, but was released in 2015.

He is being investigated for his involvement in night-world settlement cases, with arson and bombings of nightclubs.

The same sources state that Rrasa has also concerned the authorities for possession of weapons, domestic violence, and theft.

What was found in the vehicle driven by the 39-year-old

The vehicle driven by the couple from Albania, a luxury SUV they had through leasing, was located at noon on Friday on Sokratous Street and during a police check, a Tokarev-type weapon and explosives were found.
