The organizers started looking for the country that will host Eurovision 2023 back in June. Then the European Broadcasting Union stated that, given the situation in Ukraine, it is not possible to ensure the safety of all those involved in the preparation and holding of the event.
Recall that on the night of May 14-15, 2022, the results of Eurovision 2022 were announced, the final of which was held in Turin, Italy. Ukraine won the first place, and, according to the rules, the next competition was to be held on the territory of the winning country.
