Although Apple has always been to protect user privacy from being abused by as a selling point, this does not affect their promotion of their normal business. Until then, ads appeared on the App Store search page and in search results. And now the officialAnnouncewill also add new ad spots on the store’s “Today” page and app details page, but the promotional content will be prominently noted.

“Apple Search Ads offers developers of all sizes the opportunity to grow their business,” Apple wrote. “As with our other ad products, the new ad slots are built on the same foundation that they only contain ads from App Store product page content approved by the app side and will adhere to the same strict privacy standards.”

Specifically, the new plan will not recommend personalized ads to users under the age of 18, or use sensitive data and need to avoid precise tracking. It’s unclear when the new ad slots will be available on the App Store, and Apple has only said it will begin testing it “in the near future.”
